北欧学術図書館の日本学支援状況／オスロ大学図書館の日本古典籍状況 概要
2008秋、NIASメンバーの図書館と他の日本資料を有する学術図書館（デンマーク、スウェーデン、ノルウェー、フィンランド、アイスランド）に日本関係資料のコレクションについて、またこれらを扱う図書館員についてのアンケートを行った。日本学を教えている機関であっても、図書館側でそれに対応できる十分なサポートがあるとは限らない。例えば、NIASは、有料データベースをメンバー団体に提供しているが、図書館側で対応が不十分なため、研究者や学生にアクセス可能なデータベースや、利用方法の情報がしっかり伝わっていないという状況がある。
オスロ大学図書館所蔵の古典籍は、約80タイトル(約300冊)である。多くは江戸期の版本であるが、一部明治大正期の物も含んでいる。また、手写しの小型画譜が、13冊あるが、画以外に文字で書かれた情報が少ないため、その判断が難しいが、江戸後期、1800年前後からその後のものと思われる。その多くは、おそらく1920年代に、図書館の所蔵となったものと思われる。

Japanese Studies Support / Oslo University Library’s Japanese Older Material – an Overview
In the autumn of 2008 I sent a questionnaire to NIAS member libraries and other academic libraries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland) about their Japanese collections and information on their library staff. Even where the institutions offer courses in Japanese studies, many of their libraries have not offered students and researchers enough support. For example, NIAS Library hosts a subscription database (NIAS LINC database) for member libraries, but the lack of qualified library staff working with Japanese or Asian collections makes it difficult for students and researchers to access this database.
The University of Oslo owns about 80 titles (about 300 volumes) of rare Japanese materials, mostly consisting of printed books from the Edo period, but some of them also date from the Meiji and Taisho periods. There is one series of 13 volumes of hand-copied pictures. It's difficult to identify them since there is no written information, but they probably date from the late Edo period, around 1800 or later. They may have come into the Oslo University Collection in the 1920's.
