Introducing The Current Situation of E-resources in Japan and The U.S. Market
現在海外で利用可能な日本のオンライン文献に関して、各データベースの簡単な紹介とその利用状況を解説する。 日本のオンライン文献がどのように海外へ広まっていったか、地域別統計を交えて発表する。 さらに海外の中から北米市場を例に取り、コンソーシアム利用例など日本市場と比較しながら紹介する。その際に、利用規約、利用形態、利用統計、更新手続き等などデータベース販売代理店の役割についても言及する。
My presentation will make a brief introduction on various Japanese web-databases available to customers outside Japan as well as explain the way in which they are presently used. Japanese web-databases have made remarkable progress and have spread into overseas markets during the past couple of years. I would like to introduce examples of how American institutions have encouraged the use of the consortium and compare that to the Japanese market. Furthermore, I would like to examine the role of web-database agents: particularly regarding service agreements, service forms, user statistics, renewals, and so forth.
